Lake Hume Model Engineering Incorporated is a Model Engineering Club located in the Albury-Wodonga area with the main interest in operating a 5 & 71/4Railway and Steam Road Vehicles.
The Lake Hume Model Engineers Incorporated was formed in 1979 with approximately 13 Members, with a varying interests in Model Engineering, with Model Trains being the most prominent. A small 5 & 31/2 gauge circular ground level track was operated for some years behind The Railway Institute Hall Havelock street Wodonga. In the early 1980s the current site was obtained with the help from the Wodonga Council.
An oval 5-31/2 elevated track was first constructed, followed by a 500 metre 5 gauge ground level track. Shortly after the 5 gauge Railway was completed it was reconstructed to 5 & 71/4 gauge ground level track and has continued to be extended and improved. Membership has increased as well as members interest, such as Steam ,Electric & Diesels Locomotives, Steam & Petrol Stationary Engines, and Steam Road Vehicles.
